Ive decided to look at the band FOUR YEAR STRONG as they are a favourite band of mine and sort of around the same genre and same target audience. here is a screen shot of the top of their page, notice that the image is that of their new album due to be released soon, this would be a way of promoting it.

as you can see, this image is supposed to be 'Epic' and deliberalty way over exagerated as this is all part of the humour associated with pop punk. only the more intense fans will know that each of these figures is actually a member of the band but just drawn in an increasingly funny way. aside from the illistrations, the most visually outstanding aspect is the name of the band that takes up half the album cover. i have just realised that i can use this as a album cover analysis too, lol. we took the whole aspect of 'epicness' from pop-punk in our album cover, the bold icon of the eagle (still to be uploaded onto the blog) red on black to enforce how amazing the album is, and the use of fancy writing to do the same. however four year strong have taken the approach of having an equeally as epic title just to make it look that bit more amazing.

just a bit further down the page youll see that theres more promotion of the new album aswell as new merch for the release.
theres some really good examples of evidence of 'web 2.0' here, what with the links to facebook, twitter and youtube, this now means that we the audience can now get more involved with the band and an insight to their lives at a click of a button. anothe example of 'web 2.0' is
"PREORDER ON I TUNES NOW FOR $7.99!" its almost too easy now, if you want something theyve now made it so with just a few clicks, you can be listening to a whole album of your favourite band, all from the comfort of your own room.

here is the introduction of the band which would be at the top, if it werent for the new album, here you can see the band photo aswell as a playlist of songs that the band have done. above is an advertisement of a show happening this year with 'four year strong' and bands such as 'polar bear club'. this is more promotion as if you are interested in the band, surely you would want to go. the fontography of the band name is done deliberatly to emphasise the whole concept of 'who gives a crap?' and the big bold font accompanied by the band photoreally gives off a sence pf unity and 'we could take you in a fight' motif. having listened to alot of their music i can safely say that that is what they were trying to do!

scrolling down a bit you will see that there is a collumn dedicated to tour dates and a collumn dedicated to band members and contacts.
again this is a way of making the band more accessable to the fans and audience aswell as keeping the target audience in the know and up to date, an example of web 2.0.
over all this page has everything that a basic band would need to keep the target audience happy, and knowing this important in using those skills and attributes to make our web page something that the fans would enjoy!
