Digi Pack analysis #2

ok so for my final digi pack analysis i decided to do an album called panic prevention by a guy called Jamie T. this album was released in 2007 and the genre that Jamie T would fall under is post punk, UK garage and ska. I chose this album as its the type of music to which my age is the demograph, also i like him as an artist. heres the front cover:

this is a fantastic album cover considering the market and demograph, as it would be very easy to relate to, the messy bedroom, the love of different bands (for example, generation) and also if you look closley you can see a poster for the film 'Platoon', which was very popular in the late 80's/early 90's, and the audience of that generation could relate.
I would argue that Jamie T was trying used the title 'panic prevention' coupled with the boy in his room, creates a sence of the boy being lost in a see of teenage confusion and angst. Jamie T has done this by making it very messy and confusing, but at the same time its stuff that all teenages would be able to relate to (drum kits, computers, albums, alcahol and ciggarettes)
thats the point i feel that Jamie T was trying to get across with this album cover, but the back cover is alot harder to make sence of in my opinion:

i suppose you could argue and say its like a bricolage of generations, that the youth of today are less organised and less enthusiastic about life, where as back in the 40's it was all about pride and recognition of success. this would be represented here by the medals.
also, theses are all british medals, and Jamie T is also british so this could be him honouring his heritage. all in all this isnt a stereotypical 'british garage' album cover. I used the theme of bricolage in my album cover, the use of the rough around the edges eagle, and the regal writing.
il write more soon, x x x

Final Cut!

Okay guys i know we've been a bit behind with this, but quality work does take time to achieve! and we are now finally ready to unveil the final main product. For those who are just following us and don't know the song, it's called 'Hectic' by 'Enter Shikari'. Unfortunately due to the web streaming that quicktime has found it best for me to upload to the blog, the quality is not it's best, and therefore the lip syncing may not be in time. HOWEVER it is in time! and hopefully this will be evident on the DVD. Anyway here it is..

digi pack analysis.

today im going to look at the art work for an album called 'Take off your pants and jacket' by Blink 182. The album was released in 2001 and in my opinion is one of their better albums. Blink 182 are an american pop punk band so their target market is 13-early 20s both male and female lower class to middle class. the front cover is:

we are innially met with quite a powerful image of some traffic lights with symbols inside. because the background is black these 3 circles stand out more and are then made the focal point of the cover. also on the left you can see the bands name with a similar theme, relating the band to the album. i think its quite clever how the symbols make the name of the album, for example the areoplane represents 'Take off' the jacket represents 'your jacket' and so on n so forth. the title of the album itslef is is quite a teenage-esque title, the age where hormones rage and sex is possabley a new thing, and you quite literally want to 'take off your pants and jacket' and have sex. unternatvly, you could argue that as the target audience is 'high school kids/college kids' that taking off your pants and jacket is a 'party' thing, streaking and such. ultimately is appears to me that they are trying to appeal to the younger adult audience. its just a thought, but the fact that the illistration is in a traffic light theme, it could be insinuation how important it is to take off your pants and jacket. its also important to note that the band dont appear on the front of the album, this may seem quite unconventional but with just having an illistration it enables the audience to familiaries themselves with images related to the band.

this is the back cover of the album. despite the conventional aim of the back cover being to tell you the track numbers and song names, there is a strong focus on the band members, them taking up 2/3 of the back cover. the message that they give seems to be one of 'not really caring too much' and a kind of 'deal with it' attitude, which a typical state of mind that the target audience (teens). and as for the framing of the band, with a white background this makes the band the focal point of the cover, which is what you want if you want to raise physical awareness of the band, get the audience acustom with their images and faces, this is fairly important for up coming bands.
in conclusion, we used the same ideas as Blink 182 in the sence that we use a powerful image on the front cover of a black backgound to make it look epic and more thought prevoking but we didnt have the same take of the back cover as they did. no real reason, just felt that what we did was just as good if not a bit better then Blinks. the reason being that its a bit boring, the back cover, its just them standing there looking cool.

Muse webpage analysis

Like for the kings of leon webpage, i will start from the top and work my way down. However there are some things which move when you scroll downwards or sidewards so I will first analyse these moving parts.

The first one of these moving parts is the banner which is not only at the top of the site under the muse logo but is also copied at the bottom of the page aswell. This is the part which moves as you scroll down or up or side to side, it is always visable at the bottom of the screen. It is also slightly see transparent (see through) so underneath the white you can see what is behind it. The other moving part is the background image of a city skyline, with two very tall buildings in the foreground, with features in the background hard to make out. The moving background is very unconventional of websites as a whole, I cannot think of another website with a moving background.

Right the first thing at the top which I have already mentioned and alluded to is the bands logo. Not only does it tell people the name of the band, it has become synonymous with the band. It appears on all of their albums, i know this as I have them and also appears on most of their singles. Underneath this is the top banner (news, tour dates, media player, discography, images, members, forum and shop) which is just a simple white text on a grey box background. These are pretty common banner titles, as like the Kings Of Leon website. It also has a become a member and a sign in link to the right. This is also very conventional.

Under this to the left is a image of part of their cover from their most recent album. The purpose of this is for the top image, similar to our band photo on our webpage or the Kings Of Leons' band photo. Over the top of the image at the bottom of it there is a transparent text box over the top with the top news story inside it. The main body of this is in red so it stands out. Underneath is a link to view 'more info'. To the right of this is what appears to be a video player, but in fact it is not, it is just a link to the media player page. They purposely make it look like a video player with the play logo over the top of the image.

Following this the layout becomes apparent with the use of 3 banners, a big one in the middle which covers latest news, twitter and news from the web. Its interesting to see that they keep twitter news seperate even though they cover the same topics as the normal news section does. It also appears that the band do not embrace web 2.0 as they spend minimal amount of time on social networking sites as the dates for the twitter bit are quite old and there is no mention of other social networking and digital technology sites. However having links to other third party websites suggests the opposite. It is just a surprise there is no mention of facebook, youtube et al.

In the left column there is a section to register for the mailing list and to become a website member. Also there is a section headed 'latest tour dates' which features the next five gigs and whether they have been sold out or not. In the right banner there is the media player link which I have already talked about and underneath this there is a images section, with a continuous looped rolling flash video showing a few of the best images. Each one of these images is clickable which then takes you to a dedicated page for that photo. Following this is a comment section showing the three most recent comments by website members. Under this is a sort of rolling fact section which tells you how many photos are on the site, total number of comments and how many users, which in my opinion is a very cool feature. Finally in the bottom right hand corner there is a shop section with a link to the shop as a whole. Again, like the media player link which looks like an actual embedded video player, this looks like it has the top merchandise and a link to each of them, but not so.

Overall I think this website is a bit different. In a way it is the wrong way round, they have managed to carry off some very tricky and detailed features like the moving banner and background but then have not included some simple things like a embedded video player and seperate links for the seperate items shown in the shop section. It is still easy to navigate and is very pleasant to look at.

Today's (friday) work

Right today at school I have been very busy doing Media. In my study period I did some more editing of the music video and in my lunchtime I finished the webpage (apart form the embedding of the music video). In the lesson we all had a watch and a discussion about the music video about what needs to be changed so Josh has been busy doing that the second half of the lesson, while Jeb has sorted out the size of the cd covers and has been making them blog ready. I have been thinking about our evaluation some more (notes to follow later), editing some blog posts to make them perfect (few typos, gramatical errors etc). Aswell as this I have been searching the two macs we have been using during the process of our coursework and have digisticked, ready to be uploaded, the various bits and bobs I have found.

FIRST CUT

Yes! finallly an exciting post, i've got the first cut of our music video which i have edited, but im going to confer with jeb and adam about what to do so we can change that on friday (tomorrow.) so here it is, enjoy.

Kings Of Leon webpage analysis

Right this is a webpage I analysised ages ago along with several others, before even starting mine and it did give me some ideas which I included in my webpage. I have since been back to the webpage and analysed it in more detail so I can use it as one of my two full analyses. Right so I will start at the top and work my way down.

The first thing at the top of the webpage is a band photo. A artist photo or an image associated with a artist is very conventional at the top of most music webpages. Next to the band photo is a MP3 store where fans can buy songs from the site. This, from what I can gather is quite rare, generally if you want to buy MP3s you have to follow links to sites like Amazon, Play or the giant that is iTunes. Looking at the price of the MP3s they also undercut iTunes. It also means more money goes to the record company and the band compared to selling through iTunes, just simply theres less people to share the profits with and iTunes takes most of the profit on sales anyway. This has obviously been thought up and included by the record company.

The next thing down is the banner (articles, band, events, media, community and store). These are pretty common banner titles, there is some variances on different artist webpages but they fundamentally mean the same things, for example events vs tour. Also at this point the layout of the webpage becomes apparent.

The website from this point is seperated into 3 columns, two smaller ones each side with a larger one in the middle, again a convention not just of music webpages but webpages in general. In the left hand column they have the following titles; tour dates, latest videos and search. Under tour dates it shows there next couple of gigs, under the latest videos it has their most recent music video and under search it just has a search box. In the left column they have the following titles; latest uploads, login here and member updates. Under latest uploads they have the latest fan images uploaded, under the login they have the typical username and email login boxes. Finally under the member updates it has how many members the site has, how many of those are logged in and how many other people are viewing the website as a whole within the last few minutes. Then it has a list of the members logged in and finally under that they have the most recent fan comments. Again all very general and conventional.

In the middle there are several news stories with not just the title but the actual articles aswell, however in some cases due to the length at the end it says view more as the whole story doesn't fit. These stories are dated and show a link to the comments on them. Again all conventional. Then under the latest articles as they call them (ie recent news stories) nearly right at the bottom of the page they have a area called appearances. Depending on when you look at this depends on whats underneath. Quite often it says 'No items found. There are no upcoming TV appearances or media events.' Right at the bottom it has some copyright information; who created the site, the copyright of the site, and the privacy policy and terms and conditions links.

Overall then the website is pretty simple as websites go, but it does its job well and because its simple it's very easy to navigate and pleasant to use.

photoshop practices, website drafts and stages

As you can see below here are my various photoshop practices and draft webpages in order they were created. I think this shows really well the whole process I had to go though to end up with the finished ancillary task, which will be uploaded seperately, to let it bask in it's full glory. As you may be able to tell I am very proud of the website and it's quality. This is especially so because I had had no experience of doing this in any form before and used several programs I wouldn't have dreamed using before and had no idea how to use. Most apparent of these was Adobe Photoshop (version CS4). Below the writing peices talk about WHAT I have done, not WHY I have done it, that will be in with the final version of the website which I will put up later.

Right the five images above were created in Photoshop, originally for use on iWeb. However during creating these it quickly became obvious that iWeb had less features compared to Photoshop and would not produce as good as site as Photoshop could. Because of this I decided to not use iWeb and just use Photoshop for both the basis and creation of the features of the website. This mean't that my job would be harder and more time consuming but the reward would be greater. Just doing the background prooved my decision to be correct. Several of the steps for the background are below. The first step is not here but the it was just a plain grey image.
The image above was created by adding a effect to a plain grey image. I cannot remember what the effect was called but it is one of the default effects available. I think it may be simply called mistify or something similar. For the image below I just darkened it.

To make the image below I added another effect to the image above. Also at this point I made it wider as it needed to be. This was the last 'pre-packaged' effect I used. Everything else I made from complete scratch.

For the image below I lightened the basis of the background from that above. Then all I did for the two images below was select the paint option, chose suitable colours and various brush sizes and painted over the top of it. Then I changed the transparency for each for the correct feel. Some as I am sure you can tell are more 'see through' than others. For the bit in the bottom right corner I found a 'light effect' and fiddled around with the options for that until ultimately it was like how it is here. I changed all sorts of things including where it was on the page, the size, the amount of shadow and light. The light bit here is completely 'white light', whereas you could have various degrees of light. For example dim light or a 'yellow' light.

Now I added the 'second' background if you like. For this I simply made a big black rectangle, sized it up to the size I wanted it to be and put it into place (the dead centre width ways with a very small border along the top). Then I made it slightly transparent so the 'first' background was visable through it.

Underneath is where the main body and foreground of the website started to take place. The eagle image I took from the cd cover which Jeb and Josh were creating while I did the webpage. Together we decided on the font and colours for the writing and these also features on both ancillary tasks. After looking at many websites in my lifetime and analysing two music websites for Media, I decided on the links for the banner (home, news, tour, media, downloads and blog). However over the many stages of the website they do change to home, news, tour, media, shop, blog and band. At one point in the middle some stages have the first version, some the second until I stick with the second version towards the end. This shows at one point I must have been undecided on the change (I cannot remember if I was or not).

Above at this point the front cover of the album is complete so I add it onto the website, as a band website is a source for promotion in real life so I made a conscious effort to do so. Below for the shop items all I did was find a blank black t-shirt and a blank grey hoodie. For the keyrings I went onto a keyring website and found a keyring with something or someone in it. Then in illustrator I put the front cover onto them. This was easy for the t-shirt and keyrings because the backgrounds on them were also black. For the hoodie the background wasn't black so I had to just extract the eagle which was harder and more time consuming than I expected. Afterwards I then copied them onto Photoshop and sized them up and put them into place on the webpage. As you can see from the one below the image below all this took two attempts, the first time It was not quite right.
From here nothing changes, just more things which already appear above are added. All the pieces of writing feature in their seperate boxes, for example the tour dates are in one box and each news story has it's own box. Each story has a simple layout. Firstly whether its from news or twitter, then what it is, then on the next line in smaller font date, comments, views and view more. For the login and search boxes all I did was create a small white rectangle, size it up and put it into place.

My CD Artwork Analyses

Right in terms of album artworks there are generally two types. Firstly there are albums which are based on a photo. There are many many examples of these. These can be broken into two types. The first type is a photo of the actual band members on the cover, the other is a photo of an item or view. The second type of album artwork is one which is based on something which has been created for the album; a painting/ drawing or a design for example. There is however a overlap- if it's based on a photo of a sculpture it has elements of both.

I am now going to analyse a album with artwork based on photos of objects. For this I will analyse The Prodigy - Their Law: The Singles 1990-2005.
This is the front above and the back is below.
The front cover is a close up of a badge on a black leather looking flat cap. It is relatively simple but may have a more deeper meaning. Flat caps have the connotation of working class, linked with their background or the audience maybe. The badge itself features their band logo in the centre, the spider. The typography of the badge is very simple and in capitals but has an old fashioned feel about it. The eagle is important also because of the connotation of power. The use of blue on the badge is different and very noticable, it stands out. The badge as a whole has a old appearance, with the border around it and all of the other things already mentioned.

The back cover has no link with the front cover apart from two things. Firstly the use again of the spider, however this is their logo so its not surprising it features on the side bar. The second link is the use of capitals for all the writing on the back and side bars like on the front. The difference being however that the text on the back and sides looks hand written, even the album code (XLCD190) is hand written. However the back is quite unique with the tracklisting not put on top of the image, it is actually part of the image. The tracks are written on the side of books, possibly sheet music books which plays of the genre of The Prodigy. The choice of setting seems interesting, it appears to be a run down industrial type room, but thinking about the title of the album maybe its an old jail cell in a abandoned jail. However this is pure guess work.

I am now going to analyse a album with artwork based on something which has been created for the album. For this I will analyse Kasabian's self titled album.

The front cover is above, the back is below. Oh and the background is suppose to be black, it's just the image quality which gives it a brown tinge.
The name Kasabian comes from a notorious getaway driver and the theme of this album clearly links in with that. The album depicts a mysterious partly covered up face, most likely a terrorist. Terror seems to be a theme of the band as a whole, the band name, the songs and there artistic style. The first thing noticable about the front cover looking at it closely is the simplicity of it. Its in black and white which adds to this feeling. Even though it is simple, it does have a very powerful meaning and impression. It's not just what he is, or even what he represents, it is the facial expression of the character, he looks completely calm. He is also very cleverly drawn, even though the background is completely black there is a lot of use of shadowing. The typography is Kasabian's own and has been used by them on all subsequent albums and singles. The word Kasabian in this typography is the band's logo.

The back cover is basically just a black background with the tracklisting written in their typography. All the songs are written in the same size apart from two. These two songs are only interludes, hence why they are smaller. They only last 46 seconds and 1 minute 14 seconds respectively.

Overall both albums feature the typical features which are on nearly all albums. These are the tracklisting, bar code, copyright information, record company logo on the back and the album code on the side bar.

Right I believe that is my album ancillary task analyses done and dusted unless anything else major comes up which I have forgotten about.

Print Analysis

sup y'all, just going to put a little bit up about our thoughts into album covers, one of the ancillary tasks we have done and why we have made it the way we have. So I'm looking at an indie-pop group called 'Does It Offend You, Yeah?' Toured with Enter shikari and i like them, so relevant enough to analyse IMHO (in my humble opinion).
So as you can see the background is just plain back, easy to work with any colours (which this logo has ALOT of) and is modest, yet proffesional. It also gives me a connotation of omniscience and mystery, curious to find out what sort of music it is, especially with such an exotic choice of typograohy and colour. Again with each word we can see a different texture effect applied to each word, one that particulary stands out for me is the 'Does it'. The crystalised effect cleary looks sweet, and in contrast to 'offend' looks fantastic as there is a diverse range of forms this title is creating, maybe reaching out to a larger target audience? the white lined black outlining looks striking as it looks like its been painted on, and as i have said before, the use of white on black or black on white is simple yet very effective. Not much more i can say on that as it is pretty basic, but on the whole looks great!

WEHBSIT3 ANALYSIZ (Website Analysis)

So, I thought i would do abit on website analysis, and then put in another post about CD cover analysis, seeing as we did do a print ancillary task, so is definaelty worth having some research for. Anyway The band i decided to look at the website for is The Fall of Troy. Musically, they are similar to Enter Shikari except appealing to the more original style of 'core. The fall of troy aren't really well known and this is cleary seen in the website as compared to others, such as Fall Out Boy. So for starters we can see the general background of the website is like a chipboard type background, whihc is eyecatching just from the texture is shows, and the rest of the applications play on this background as a central point, pour example the advert for the new album has been 'pinned' to the back of the board, as if it were real.

This interesting graphic background and other flash-type applications are only present, however in the first couple of lines, the more you read down the page the darker the background gets. And it doesn't take long until its just plain block black. However we can see the notices arranged straight down the center almost like a 'Twitter' page. Definately something to consider in our own website. Below is the title for the website, but what interests me is the tabs underneath that. In terms of 'Web 2.0' we have got videos and images, the band being able to personally upload there home videos to the site for every fan and his brother to watch. This also conflicts with celebrity status in a sort of self reflexive way, the band know they are famous, however the videos show us they are just normal people doing normal things (apart form the gigs and recording etc etc..). besides the videos they have a discography, showing a portfolio of all their work with the songs in each one, they have a shop, for all that web 2.0 fun, (using the internet as a advertsing and marketing place as well as displaying yourself.), what upcoming shows are hiting where, and oh look, wouldn't you know. Their own blog. (which is what the default tab is when you load up the website.

Now is the typography used for the headline of the website, very striking, and white on a dull/black background is most effective. the use of flicks and the smaller size of the adjoining words really emphasises the name and people are going to always recognise the name if it cropped up in a magazine or whatever. I also think the particualr font and style, especially the guitarist in the plywood behind shouts out at young adults with an alternative taste to the mainstream music. similarly to 'shikari's and ADTR's target audiences.

Just next to the tabs under the title is a lovely mailing list, which encourages viewers to sign up and get special information! YAY! enforcing that convention of celebrity status. this font is a bit more formal, but to the point. Unfortunately i can't get the plywood background on here as blogger hates big files, and i hate file conversion :( so if you click on the name you can visit the site, or alternatively just click here. or here? just whatever you do don't click there.. no one wants to see that.

Anyway thats my WEBSITE ANALYSIS, hope you enjoyed it :)

I still cant upload the webpages

I can't believe this, today at school I converted all the webpage versions and practices into jpg format from there original photoshop format, which is what blogger and a friend told me to do. However they still will not work, which I don't understand why. I am going to talk to Miss about it in the lesson tomorrow, and try to get a demonstration aswell just to make sure. You wouldn't think it would be that difficult just to upload some images would you?

another web analysis

i thought i might aswell do another one, seeing as i want Miss B to like me, i need to make sure i got everything coverd twice.
i thought i would stick to the same genre of music as FYS and ENTER SHIKARI so i chose to analysis 'A day to remember's website.
the top of the homepage appears to be very similar to their last album 'homesick' which is very colourful but at the same time very dark and haunting.
i also liked the fontography of the band name in the centre, as it is hilighted by the surroundings and how it looks like its getting engrossed by the vines, very powerful imagery.

just down from the previous picture is this, promotion for their tour this year, this is something of a trend im spotting. next to it is the menu bar if you will, with various different links such as 'news, member, chats and blogs. these are all ways in which the audience can feel closer to the band and learn about their background aswell as being able to talk to them like they are regular people and not celebrities, in a sence this approach flouts the concept of celebrity status. but then again the fact that you can do this may seem a little patronising. you can also access the store from here, where you can buy ADTR merch, or enter contests. basically just to make life easier, there all in one handy bar. the bar itself looks relativley informal which, accompanied by words such as 'store', and 'chat' make this section very informal, something that the target audience (young adults) would be able to relate to and understand.
continue scrolling and youll find this section. i liked small animation in the collumn, and you could argue that it bares similar attributes to our eagle emblum, in the sence that it is a figure in a bold colour on black, that strikes a powerful image. the use live chat is the focus in this section though, and im not sure how more 'web 2.0' you can get! you can talk to the members of ADTR from your own room by the click of a button!! this also breaks the convention of celebrity status, letting us common people just 'chat' with these famous men. also the concept of how easy it is to do im important.

i just wanted to add this little bit that sits at the bottom of the page, as this is a perfect example of the audience involvement. the active members of ADTR website are all avid fans and the concept that they can have their face on the bands web page is another way of breaking the celebrity staus of the band and involving the audience in the works.

web analysis

ive deciced to do a bit of website analysis, because, welll, we havnt done any yet and i feel its something i may as well adress whilst im here.
Ive decided to look at the band FOUR YEAR STRONG as they are a favourite band of mine and sort of around the same genre and same target audience. here is a screen shot of the top of their page, notice that the image is that of their new album due to be released soon, this would be a way of promoting it.

as you can see, this image is supposed to be 'Epic' and deliberalty way over exagerated as this is all part of the humour associated with pop punk. only the more intense fans will know that each of these figures is actually a member of the band but just drawn in an increasingly funny way. aside from the illistrations, the most visually outstanding aspect is the name of the band that takes up half the album cover. i have just realised that i can use this as a album cover analysis too, lol. we took the whole aspect of 'epicness' from pop-punk in our album cover, the bold icon of the eagle (still to be uploaded onto the blog) red on black to enforce how amazing the album is, and the use of fancy writing to do the same. however four year strong have taken the approach of having an equeally as epic title just to make it look that bit more amazing.

just a bit further down the page youll see that theres more promotion of the new album aswell as new merch for the release.
theres some really good examples of evidence of 'web 2.0' here, what with the links to facebook, twitter and youtube, this now means that we the audience can now get more involved with the band and an insight to their lives at a click of a button. anothe example of 'web 2.0' is
"PREORDER ON I TUNES NOW FOR $7.99!" its almost too easy now, if you want something theyve now made it so with just a few clicks, you can be listening to a whole album of your favourite band, all from the comfort of your own room.

here is the introduction of the band which would be at the top, if it werent for the new album, here you can see the band photo aswell as a playlist of songs that the band have done. above is an advertisement of a show happening this year with 'four year strong' and bands such as 'polar bear club'. this is more promotion as if you are interested in the band, surely you would want to go. the fontography of the band name is done deliberatly to emphasise the whole concept of 'who gives a crap?' and the big bold font accompanied by the band photoreally gives off a sence pf unity and 'we could take you in a fight' motif. having listened to alot of their music i can safely say that that is what they were trying to do!

scrolling down a bit you will see that there is a collumn dedicated to tour dates and a collumn dedicated to band members and contacts.
again this is a way of making the band more accessable to the fans and audience aswell as keeping the target audience in the know and up to date, an example of web 2.0.
over all this page has everything that a basic band would need to keep the target audience happy, and knowing this important in using those skills and attributes to make our web page something that the fans would enjoy!
x

TEST of website image upload

This is a test to check/ make sure that the webpage from photoshop can be added and viewed on our blog. I have just tried and they do not work in photoshop file format (psd)- on monday I will ask Mrs why this is and try to upload again.

target audiences/audience feedback.

ok so weve got to the stage where audience feedback is becoming quite important so we needed some people of the right demograph to have a look and give us their thoughts.
the target audience is young adults due to the up tempo/loud screaming and use of synths. thses are all common attributes in 'todays' youth pop punk/rave/indie music scenes.
so we pulled in a few people and they watched it and we the asked them a few questions.

1. So what stood out most to you?

. "the slow motion bits with the guitarist were very good."
. "I think the bit where the cars go past in fast forward was amazing"
. "the use of varied shots kept the peice refreshing and interesting"

2. what were your favourite bits?

. " jamie was amazing! deffinatly born for the stage"
. "the guitarist got SOO into it"
. "the concept of messing with time was interesting"

3. what could we have done better?

."a few shots were a bit long" (this is intersting because josh did this on purpose, and i dissagreed, good to see the audience behind me!)
." i think that it would be kool if some of it was in black and white" (we have disscussed this and its something that were working on)

in a nut shell we agreed entirely on the feedback and this is helping to make a better peice, and will have more feedback when weve progressed.
Right, theres alot of stuff i need to do tonight, and beleive me, by the end of the night, it will be done. Ide just first like to say a big sorry to Miss Bannon and Mr Morrison. I realise that I have been apathetic and lazy recently, and theres no good reason for that, but tonight is the night I make reperations. I am to do a post on target audiences, evaluation thoughts, one more textual analysis and anything else i can think of when i get to it.

Target Audience feedback

So in the past week I have been inviting people in to watch our half baked 'masterpiece' and asking them to criticise what they dont like and what needs changing. Just going to bullet point some of the feedback -

- Need to use a tint (black and white?) to mix up the shots
- Change some of the shots around because they dont fit in the right part of the shot.
- use more slow motion shots

So looking at these three points i can gather that we need to look at the presentaition of the clips, such as speed, positioning in the video and effects, rather than the actual footage itself, however we are praised for how well synced it is, and how into the video we were, including actors (thanks jamie..) so anyway we are off to go on work on that abd i'll update soon.
