we are innially met with quite a powerful image of some traffic lights with symbols inside. because the background is black these 3 circles stand out more and are then made the focal point of the cover. also on the left you can see the bands name with a similar theme, relating the band to the album. i think its quite clever how the symbols make the name of the album, for example the areoplane represents 'Take off' the jacket represents 'your jacket' and so on n so forth. the title of the album itslef is is quite a teenage-esque title, the age where hormones rage and sex is possabley a new thing, and you quite literally want to 'take off your pants and jacket' and have sex. unternatvly, you could argue that as the target audience is 'high school kids/college kids' that taking off your pants and jacket is a 'party' thing, streaking and such. ultimately is appears to me that they are trying to appeal to the younger adult audience. its just a thought, but the fact that the illistration is in a traffic light theme, it could be insinuation how important it is to take off your pants and jacket. its also important to note that the band dont appear on the front of the album, this may seem quite unconventional but with just having an illistration it enables the audience to familiaries themselves with images related to the band.

this is the back cover of the album. despite the conventional aim of the back cover being to tell you the track numbers and song names, there is a strong focus on the band members, them taking up 2/3 of the back cover. the message that they give seems to be one of 'not really caring too much' and a kind of 'deal with it' attitude, which a typical state of mind that the target audience (teens). and as for the framing of the band, with a white background this makes the band the focal point of the cover, which is what you want if you want to raise physical awareness of the band, get the audience acustom with their images and faces, this is fairly important for up coming bands.
in conclusion, we used the same ideas as Blink 182 in the sence that we use a powerful image on the front cover of a black backgound to make it look epic and more thought prevoking but we didnt have the same take of the back cover as they did. no real reason, just felt that what we did was just as good if not a bit better then Blinks. the reason being that its a bit boring, the back cover, its just them standing there looking cool.
